A sick child in Blantyre, Malawi.
Thank you for your generous donation!
Who We Are (and why this is important)
Within the walls of Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Dr. Taylor and other Blantyre Malaria Project staff
Provide medical care to critically ill Malawian children
Investigate the way the brain is injured in children with cerebral malaria, and conduct studies trying to decrease the number of children who die or suffer brain injuries
Train Michigan State University students and faculty members, as well as Malawian health care workers
The scope of activities has grown beyond that which is covered by traditional research grants, and we are committed to sustaining our teaching, research and service activities. A new financial modus operandi is required.
We invite you to join us in supporting the Blantyre Malaria Project by giving to Michigan State University’s Malawi Fund. Your contribution will be used in three main areas:
Teaching (students, faculty, colleagues)
Research (severe malaria pathogenesis and treatment)
Service (medical care for critically ill children)
